  • Do you drink coffee for the energy aspect or just because it's a normal thing for you. If it's for energy try some healthy energy shakes or I drink Spark a product by Advocare....it works wonders and has lots of vitamins in it. If it's just a normal thing to drink coffee in the am, try drinking water before you drink your coffee so it'll help not overloading on coffee so much. Hope this helps out in any way. Good Luck!

So am I correct in assuming that you put more than just coffee in your cup. As coffee alone has very few calories.

I used to drink coffee all day at work and then over the course of a month I weened myself down to just a cup at home before work and water only at work.

I did have headaches but it was so worth it. I feel so much better and I get my 8 cups of water a day easily.

    Good luck.

I just put a little skim milk in my coffee, so it's a little better--no sweeteners. I've tried to switch to herbal teas and water to cut back

I use almond milk in my morning coffee and then drink green tea (has caffeine in it) or peppermint tea for the rest of the day.

If you use sugar try switching to a sweetener.

    Lower calories than coffee?

Coffee is next to no calories. That is, unless you are loading it with cream and sugar. Try green tea with honey? Or switch to sugar free flavored creamer.

I will never give up my coffee! LOL Nope, not happening! :drinker:

    As a recovering coffee addict:

    half hot water
    2 non dairy creamers
top off with fresh brewed coffee

25 calories - once per day - works for me! :)

Had to look twice at my tin of coffee on my desk.

I used to drink it Milk & 2 Sugars I now drink it neat, maybe 3 times a week and only in work!

When I don't drink coffee I drink water a lot lower in calories (if you base it on %, lol)

That depends. Black coffee has almost no calories.

If you're putting cream in your coffee, try whole milk, 2%, 1% or skim.

If you're using sugar, you could try artificial sweeteners or stevia.
  • I drink coffee black. It's 2 calories. If you buy high quality coffee, you won't need to add sugar or cream to it.

Is it really the coffee you want or is it just cause it's part of your routine ?

I love torani sugar free syrups (like the kind you see at Starbucks). You can order different flavors online. Add that and some fat-free milk and coffee tastes pretty fancy! I've read several places that coffee has health benefits, so I see no reason why you should stop drinking it. I'm a coffee lover myself!

If 2 calories is too steep for you than I don't really have advice.

I take my coffee with sweet n low and .25 cup of skim milk for a whopping 25 calories per giant travel mug.

I hate coffee, but my mother weaned herself off cream and sugar and drinks it straight black now and says she loves it.

I drink tea with a little honey, but there isn't much caffeine in that, if that's what you need.

Coffee doesn't really have many calories unless you add lots of cream and sugar. I switched from Vanilla Coffee Mate to Half and Half at the beginning of the year and that cut the calories in half. I've also been trying to reduce the amount I use per cup to cut calories further. Your taste buds definitely adjust.

If you aren't opposed to artificial sweeteners (I'm assuming you add things since you are worried about calories) There are some sugar free creamers that have about 35 cals per tbs and liquid that are 15 or so per tbs.

Black coffee, or plain tea or plain green tea. You don't have to add cream and sugar to coffee. Black is the way it is meant to taste, but it is only good if it is a higher quality bean.
  • Coffee's about as low-cal as you can get, unless you're adding full-fat milk and sugar.

Skimmed milk, no sugar, job's a goodun.

This! I love the sugar free caramel flavored syrup in 1% milk. There's a frozen custard shop just down from my office that has the best Caramel Shakes, and this tastes a whole lot like it. Not as thick of course, but kicks the craving.
