My Journey Begins.

Hey fellow dieters.
I'm Dean, and today marks a new start in my life.
Ive been over weight for years now, a few years ago i managed to lose over 4stone and i was well chuffed. sadly I was diagnosed with depression a couple years back and things took a turn for the worse and I'm now almost back at my original start weight.
Past few months have been pretty rough too, losing my job and having to cope with the financial implications of having no income, on top of family issues but i wont go into that. After coming back from holiday (i booked and paid for before i lost my job :P ) I've spent this last week thinking about turning my life around for the better, and getting healthy and physically fit is my first on the list.
I have worked out that in exactly 15 weeks from today it will be new years eve. My goal is to be as healthy as i can be by the end of these next 15 weeks so that i can hit 2013 with a running start. My birthday is also the day before new years eve so I'll be able to reward myself.
I will be cutting out ALL of my junk food. No sweets, no crisps, no alcohol (cries), pretty much nothing that i eat now lol. Luckily I'm sort of gifted in the kitchen so cooking healthily will be quite enjoyable. I have a treadmill, exercise bike, and a weight bench at home to exercise with and i intend to do at least an hour a day between them. Did 40 minutes on the treadmill and 20 minutes on weights today and i feel great for it. (tomorrow will probably be different lol)
If there's anyone who can encourage me on the way that would be awesome. I'd Happily return the favor.
Good luck to everyone and to myself too ^_^

Hi Dean,
Best of luck, I have found this program REALLY helpful! I started July, 1st and have lost 26lbs. I took two weeks off for vacation but have been pretty faithful otherwise. Just a caution, if you deny yourself EVERYTHING you love, if you fall off the wagon, you fall hard and it is really difficult to get back on! Try giving yourself a break one day to have a glass of wine or something yummy!! Keep us posted!!0 -
I just started a couple of weeks ago myself. I have been pleasantly surprised with the results. I LOVE tracking my food, it really makes me realize how unhealthly some of the stuff I was eating is. I also love the support that people are giving me. It has made a monumental difference in my approach to a healthly lifestyle.
I understand the depression, and being jobless, and wondering what's going to happen next. Suprisingly, the two years I was without a job were the two years I gained the most weight. It will all work out in the end. Just stay positive as much as you can!!
Good luck to you, I will be rooting for you every step of the way!! Add me as a friend if you like (anyone else feel free as well).

Many thanks to you all for the encouragement. completed my second workout today followed by a 10 minute soak in FREEZING cold water then a hot shower. Cant wait for my weighing/measuring on Monday, hope my efforts aren't in vain. regardless if I'm not losing anything at least i know my general fitness will be improving ^^ gonna be sore tomorrow though0
