I would say oatmeal0

I'd pick oatmeal too - less processed, no added sugar.
Of course, this assumes you buy oats (ingredient: oats) and cook them yourself. If you buy one of the little packets full of sugar and flavouring, then who knows what you are eating!
Really though, eat what you enjoy, and what makes you feel good. And what fits into your calorie and macro (fat/carbs/protein) allowance for the day.0 -
gotta say oatmeal - and it's pretty filling too0

Thanks all for your reply. But I saw 1 cup of plain cornflakes is less calorie than 1 cup of plain oatmeal, so I bought cornflakes this time but confused though.0

You just have to keep in mind that calories aren't everything. While I don't think the corn flakes are a bad choice as long as you don't add sugar too them (which I have to in order to eat them) the oatmeal has more fiber and protein which will help you stay full and satisfied longer. Plus, I personally feel more satisfied with a warm meal than a cold one. I hope this helps.0 -
Take a serving size of the plain rolled oats (40g) and cook them on the stove with twice the recommended amount of water. It will take longer to cook, but the oats will will absorb the water and swell up into a much larger serving size once cooked. For the 150 calories for the oats it will probably be about twice the amount of volume of the measurement of corn flakes (especially if you weigh your corn flakes serving, not use a measuring cup).
And consider that you start with the 100-110 calories for the basic serving of corn flakes, but then you add the milk to it anyway. So you're getting closer to the 150 that the oats will be when you're done.
I find the oats to be much more filling and have a longer lasting effect of being satisfying than the cereal. Plus you don't get all the added stuff that's in the corn flakes.0 -
Thanks so much people.. all your reply made me confident for oats in breakfast.. thanks again0

Cornflakes may be less calories (did you factor in the milk btw?) but when you're starving 20 minutes after eating them and digging in the fridge again are they really less?0
