2nd 5K Race - SUCCESS!

I ran my second 5K race on Saturday with 2 goals in mind....RUN the whole thing and beat my time from my 1st 5K race. Well I was able to accomplish the second goal but not the first. My first 5K race time was 36:48...this one was 33:35!! I'm so excited that I took a full minute/mile off of my time, that the 2 minutes I walked during this one, doesn't really bother me that much! I have another one coming up at the end of October, so maybe I'll be able to get under 33:00!!

That's awesome! I want to run another 5k but all the ones I find conflict with my schedule. However, this morning I challenged myself to run 5K...didn't pre-map it...just sort of ran and used endomondo to keep track of how far I went. My two 5K times were 36:30 and 34:30 and I ran this one in 33:30! I averaged just over an 11 minute mile! In fact, I walked another half mile after as a cool down and still my average time was 11 minutes 44 seconds for the whole workout.
  • Great work! For time - I really think that run/walk is best! Running the whole thing isn't all its cracked up to be! :)

Awesome work!!! I look forward to doing my first 5K a month from now. I know I wont be able to run most of it but I'm doing it just to prove to myself that I can do this.
