Hi everybody I'm new to the site I been using it for the past week. I need help with the calories. I start my day with 35 minutes of walk at the park then I come home and I do another 15 to 20 minutes of aerobics, so on my goal summary it says that I'm supposed to consume 1450 calories on a regular basis but on the days that I exercise it takes me to 1950 calories so I need help on this: Am I supposed to consume all of those calories and Am I supposed to exercise through out the day or what Am I supposed to do I need help can some one help me? I feel like I'm doing this wrong.

  • I think that you are doing a fine job.. The 1950 is how many calories can have before you start going backward.. llike gainin weight.. Even thou you are walking and everything...........
  • First, How many calories are you burning during your work out? For example,If you consume 1500 calories per day--the "golden rule" said you need to burn 500 a day.
If you’re a beginner at working out (like me) start out slow! But if that’s not the case; if you “feel full” don’t force yourself to eat because you have left over calories. You can always save your calories for a special occasion. For example, I attended a family get together, and I knew they wouldn’t offer any “options” at this dinner. I was able to enjoy the dinner guilt free!

I don't consume my extra calories. It's great insurance in case you go over but if your not hungry don't worry about it.

If I understand right MFP is estimating you should eat 1450 calories but then you estimate you burned 450 more exercising and now MFP says you can eat 1950. Yes, you can eat that much. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. You don't have to.

1450 is your base rate. The additional is 'earned' from exercise. You can eat them and still lose weight at the rate MFP set from your original information input.. If you don't eat back your exercise calories you'll lose faster. iF you're hungry ,eat some. You'll soon figure out what works for you.

    at least eat some back.
most people say 50-75% because mfp can be inaccurate

some people swear by not eating them back, some of these people then ask me why they are tired.
  • Thanks for your advice I really thought I had to eat that many calories. And I was trying to and I wasnt feeling good afterwards. Thanks for your adviceit was very helpful.
  • Thank you so much I was worry that if I didn't consumed all those calories I wasn't gonna loose the weight. Thanks for your advice.
  • Thank You, for your advice it was very helpful. I have a chart where it says to eat 1500 calories and it gives me menus for Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks and I was doing fine with it until MFP gave me those extra calories then I got confused. thanks for your advice.
