HELP! Lost my motivation!

Help! I've lost my motivation... I've lost around 13 pounds so far... and now I'm afraid I'm going to gain them all back if I do not start controlling myself again.
I'm a full time college kid. I don't live on campus which helps me not have to deal with college food... but it's just as hard trying to keep away from the fast food, etc.
I need some motivation... or maybe some quick tips.

This may sound cliche but don't control yourself, just eat what you want in moderation. Anyhow, the fear of gaining back is pretty common, but you're doing great!! Losing 13lbs means that you've carved a positive lifestyle for yourself, and you must have gotten used to the mindset by now. Even if you want to revert to old habits (if you had them) and go out of proportion you won't last in that mode more than a day. So don't be so scared!! taake the next step forward, I'm sure you can do it0

It might help to figure out why you are losing control... then we can work out strategies to overcome the triggers. For example, I know I lose control some times when I'm really upset, or if I let myself get too hungry. So now I can better prevent myself from losing control by going for a walk instead of emotional eating and by eating more.0

If you are at your goal weight, then first of all, huge grats!!!
then slowly start moving your calorie intake up to your RMR rate. For me the cals are 1200 now, and my rmr is 1470. so the moment i hit my goal weight (soon soon) i will eventually want to spend the rest of my life eating around the 1500/day. which is soooo doable. so what i will do is i will go up to 1250 for a month. then 1300 for a month. then 1350 for a month. then 1400 etc, finally to 1500 for a month and stay there forever. (1500/day for a month, of course)
Try doing this with your own calorie allowance, this way your body eases nicely back in to the "maintaining weight calories" consumption.0 -
This may seem cliche too, but keep your diary! even if you are going over your daily calorie intake, even if you are eating things you know you shouldn't, or eating more than you should, enter it in your diary. A great way to make better choices is to know the result of the choices you are making. For example, you might have a baked potato full of cheese and baked beans, or pizza, or a lovely dessert, but until you know how many calories these things are, you won't know if you should or should not have eaten them. There's no reason why you couldn't eat exactly what you like, but as the other poster said, just control your portions -- control your calorie intake.
Great job on 13lbs so far!! you can totally do this..0 -
Woah! 13lbs, that's really amazing!
You just have to think about how great you feel now. I know when I lose weight it changes how I feel about everything! I want to go out more, feel more confident and generally feel much happier. If you put it back on you might go into a bit of a downhill spiral!
Kate Moss once said "Nothing tastes as good as bein skinny feels" - now I know we all need to eat at least 1200 a day, but you get the idea!0 -
Great job in losing 13 pounds!!!! A day at a time beautiful, we all have challenges every day, eat everything in moderation, and then little by little start eliminating the fast food, it is not real food, lack of nutrients and that is why you want to eat more of it, it is very addictive and very damaging for all of us. Eat more protein, good salads, fruits and once in a while if you feel like having something you like, do it. It is a learning process. Keep tracking what you eat and be here. You will be able to do it.0

you done great... can you slip a walk in, or a swim or some form of exercise so that if there is a particular day when you all go for fast food you can work it off... always look at the calories... then you know what you have eaten.
Good luck babe x0 -
You are doing great!!! Whats going on that makes you feel like you have lost your motivation? You are here asking for help so you must still have some motivation. Last week I didn't want to stick with it, i wanted to eat whatever I wanted and however much I wanted and to heck with it all- so I know how you feel, but stick with it you can do it. Are you craving a certain food that you think you shouldn't have?0

Thanks guys! I think most of my problem is that I started working at McDonald's again and I was just too stressed to work and go to school at the same time... they kept scheduling me way too many hours and it was really just wearing me out. But I quit... I'd rather be poor than work at a fast food restaurant and be tempted to eat the free meal I get every time I work.
And I'm a pretty strong advocate that there are no bad foods. You must eat everything with portion control. I've been tracking everything still... which I guess is still a great thing.
I just need to exercise more and keep my head up high. Eat what I want to eat but eat it in moderation, etc. Measure my food... not let people get me down... etc. Maybe I should start eating those protein bars again. I was doing really good when I was getting more protein.0
