Opinion on my New Scale

Alright, so I finally got a scale. When I first started last year, I didn't have a scale, and I gained all the weight back when I stopped dieting (plus some). I had no clue what I weighed, and I pretty much always had to guesstimate.

So, anyways, I finally got a scale.
It's called the Taylor Analyzer Scale. Have you heard of it?

So, I set everything up and such, then stepped on the scale. 197.4. I tried it again. 197.4. I got the same thing each time I stepped on the scale. (Couldn't tell you how happy I was, LOL).

I'm really curious to know how accurate the other parts of the scale are. For example, it measures Weight, Body Fat, BMI, and your Cal-Max (how many calories a day to maintain your weight).
I'm almost positive the weight is correct, but I'm not sure about the other things. I got something like 48% for body fat, 32.5 for BMI, and 2400 cals for the Cal-Max.
The Body Fat doesn't seem right to me, or maybe I'm just in denial.

LOL, anyways, long story short, has anyone heard of this scale, and did you like it? What are the pros/cons?

The BMI sounds right because that was my BMI at that weight, not sure of the others.

That's a little bit higher than my body fat according to my scale, and I outweigh you a little, but I'm VERY muscular (under the globs and globs of fat  ). So if it's wrong, it's consistently wrong with my scale which is a Homedics (also very new)! So quite possibly ...

I am quite muscular too, I was weightlifting for a whole year (and I mean real weightlifting, not just dumbells) and gained some serious muscle. That's why I think the body fat might be off.
I am almost positive the BMI is right, and I know the weight is right. I'm just not sure about the cal-max and body fat.

The home analyzers can vary a lot depending on how hydrated you are, among other factors. My advice to you is to follow the instructions on your particular scale, and make sure to take your measurements at the same time.

Also, with body fat in particular, I wouldn't track it daily, you'll drive yourself nuts. You'd be better off with measuring weekly (or even every two weeks). Remember that it's a tracking tool more than anything, so just use it for progress rather than the actual number.

if you're really concerned, a good set of calipers is usually the most accurate method for measuring body fat.

I'm not realy concerned with body fat, I'm just checking out the scale for tonight. I'll probably just weigh in every other day or so, and just weight.

If you are going to 'count' the bmi, or fat percentages, be sure you are very well hydrated. Maybe not a 'first thing in the morning' weigh for that, even though I would still do the a.m. for weight.
