I always find a hotel with a gym. And, I try to bring healthy snacks. But it's your weekend trip so don't stress too much and just have some fun!
  • Hi, Try to eat as healthy as possible. Drink lots of water, walk or take stairs when possible. If you're a planner like me (I'm a little OCD  ) You can look up possible eating places and take a look at their menus online to note the calories and fat grams of the food being served.

Be sure to have healthy snacks on hand like fresh fruit, nuts(almonds, walnuts, peanuts), fiber one bars. I hope this helps. Maybe someone else will have some more ideas for you. Enjoy your trip!

If you dont go on a weekend trip every weekend, I say dont stress over it to much. Just get back on track when you return. Enjoy yourself and drink lots of water.

Make good choices of the menu, like chicken or seafood (without creamy sauces, of course). Fill up with a delicious salad first, and try to drink as much water as you can. Remember, It's just a weekend. Pick one day to have dessert, and a favorite meal with a glass of wine. Enjoy it, it's only a weekend!

Number one get a one liter bottle or two liter bottle and keep drinking your water...
Number two look up fast food places that can provide low calorie options for breakfast, lunch and dinner... Make sure to get three options that you like for each meal.
Number three get some snack baggies and fill them with small servings (70 -100 calories) of nuts and seeds... one mid morning and one mid afternoon...
Number four if you have a free continental breakfast just do fruit and stay away from the pastry, breads, and other offerings...
If you decide to have a nice meal somewhere choose the chicken, fish or vegetarian options and avoid cheese or cream...
Number five eat salads with as many meals as you can. Make sure to get them with dressing on the side, dip the tines of the fork in the dressing and then get salad on the fork... No croutons, toppings, other than fruit or vegetables...
Avoid desserts if you feel you must have one, eat fruit or some soft serve ice cream from McDonalds isn't too bad...

I just came back from vacation and I took a cooler with my food in it. I made a decision to cut most processed foods and all processed sugars so I am really restricted in what I eat. I packed a cooler full of Chicken, Turkey Burger, Salad, and what I didn't bring with me I picked up at the local farmers market and grocery store. You can do it!
  • Thank you so much for all your help!. We booked a hotel with a gym in it so we can exercise in the morning. Also I am going grocery shopping today so I can get healthy snacks before we leave. I think the key is being prepared beforehand so I can feel free to enjoy myself and not have to worry.
