OMG, never again!!!!!! NEVER.

As I'm typing, my mouth and nose are recovering from having ONE SLICE, one, of a raw jalapeno pepper. I can't eat the rest. My nose and mouth burns. Anyone dare have the rest of the pepper? LMAO

I grow my own jalapeño and habañero peppers. Vita-mix is great for making nice home made salsa and hot sauce.
I put a couple grilled jalapeños in my cheese burger salad.

Drink milk... it'll take the heat away. NEVER water.

Jalapeno's are low on the pepper scale. I love them and eat them by the handful. Nom nom nom
If you can't handle the heat, chocolate is the best cure.

My dad would, he's proud of the fact that he can eat extremely hot stuff like it was candy. He's always on the lookout for a hot sauce or a pepper that's hotter than the ones he already has. I definitely didn't take after him in that area that's for sure!

Please, more on the cheese burger salad!
  • My eight yr old son eat them straight form the jar. I watched him pile six peppers on one small nacho. Hot sauce and peppers his favorite condiments.

I put more jalapeno on my burgers than I do meat!
  • The other day I chopped jalapenos for chilli, and then rubbed my nose, and then rubbed my eye. Spent 30 minutes in blazing agony lol - I feel your pain!

I'm from Texas, we love jalapenos on everything. I've eaten plenty, get them regularly on my Subway sammiches and all. I can even do diced raw jalapeno in pico de gallo and it comes out great. However...

On my and my BF's 1 1/2 year anniversary, I wanted to make it special. I was going to do crab and cream cheese stuffed, bacon wrapped jalapenos, along with some other thing ... shrimp something or other. Anyhoo. It's the night of, and he's helping me prepare the jalapenos for stuffing. All is well and good, at first.

    Then, the burn hit.

Oh my dear lord, did it hit. I've never been in pain so much in my life. These were the hottest jalapenos we'd ever encountered. We literally abandoned dinner and spent the rest of the night with our hands in an ice bath, unable to do anything else but take shots of drink and hope to god it would numb the pain.

Never before and never since have I encountered such a beast as the Anniversary Jalapeno.

TL;DR - some jalapenos are hotter than others. Beware.

Be careful with skin contact. When I was in high school my ex was chopping some of those and didn't wash his hands well enough after because later we..went to the bedroom and let's just say, that **** BURNS.
