Hi Fellow MFPs!

Options
I've been using My Fitness Pal for almost a year and a half, but I never introduced myself.

My name is Carrie. I'm 25 and reside in Athens, GA. I'm also a vegetarian, self-proclaimed foodie, writer, editor and social media specialist. I graduated from college in 2009 and have since started my own small branding agency with three other recent grads. I've always been fairly healthy (my mom always made lots of homemade organic food while I was growing up) but I've never really been very athletic. I quit attempting sports after middle school and, although I would head to the gym a couple times a month, I lived on a steady diet of cheap beer and pizza for the first couple years of college. I never really committed to fitness before now. I suppose I was what some people call "skinny fat" - I was within a healthy BMI, but I lacked any real muscle definition.

My best friend started using MFP as part of her weight loss efforts before her wedding last summer. She lost a ton of weight and looks amazing. In fact, she dropped so many dress sizes in the 8 months before her wedding, her gown had to be practically remade. (She did all of this through good, old fashioned healthy diet and exercise. Who knew, right?) She introduced me to the MFP phone app last spring when I was complaining that my 3x - 4x a week treadmill runs weren't yielding any results, and I quickly became addicted. All I needed to get inspired was a way to track my food and hold myself accountable. I quickly started learning more about fitness, proper exercise and what to eat.

I fell into a bit of a lull around the holidays, but started back to using the app regularly this past spring. I also got engaged this summer, so that really kicked up my fitness goals. My fiance and I recently started training for a 5k, and hope to complete a 10k before our wedding in November 2013.

Please feel free to add me as a friend. I love getting to know other motivated, positive people :)
