I saw some things online that even a low Cal but high in sugar and Carb diet can make you gain weight rather than lose?? Any insights?

Everyone is different - and you will find something positive and negative about every kind of diet online if you look hard enough!
Personally I think that the key is to make sure that most of the food you are eating is giving you good nutrition, then once you are confident you are giving your body what it needs to stay healthy you can add in whatever treats you enjoy.
I don't think sugar (or carbs) are evil - but it is easy to get into the habit of eating too many high-sugar/low-nutrition foods. You aren't going to magically gain weight because you ate a sandwich instead of a steak if the calories stay the same.
Aim for a range of different foods in your diet and you'll be fine.0 -
beware of juices they are a trojan horse filled with nothing but sugars, i always make sure to read the list of ingredients before buying them, if corn syrup is one of the main ingredients i don't buy the product.0
