Hi Guys,
Just wanted some advice. I am a mummy to two adorable babies 1 and 6 months and im trying to lose all my baby weight and more.
I just want to see if what exercise im doing is enough?
I have a pedometer and im walking 10000 steps a day irregardless. Im walking at least 4 miles a day carrying my baby who is 17lbs in a sling or ergo and my toddler who is 27lbs in a stroller.
When im not able to go out ill try (my kids are clingy and i cant do anything to for me) and do a 15 min workout from youtube or 30DS. Ill jog on the spot for a few minutes while im waiting for the kettle to boil or josh to finish eating etc.
I also dont own weights but josh loves my doing weights with him as the weight lol.
I cant afford the gym plus my husband wont look after the baby anyway and i couldnt take her bless.
Is this enough as well as eating 1200kcal? Im 230lbs
Thanks Guys xxx

I'd say thats ok, besides if it's all you can manage!
Theres plenty of people out there who have lost a ton of weight not exercising at all, although it'll tone you up in the long run so something is better than nothing. I'm sure you'll do just fine. And you'll be adding in loads of running after the kiddos soon too!

Losing weight is about maintaining a healthy calorie deficit. How you get there (diet, or diet + exercise) is up to you. If you're doing that, with reasonable macros, then yes... you are doing enough.
If not, then no, and you probably wont' see results.0 -
A little OT but.....your husband won't look after the baby to give you some time for yourself?????????0

Our little one is very attached to me and screams bloody murder if she isnt with me or my sister Hubby gets very upset by it and prefers i take her with. He did suggest i go jogging but with a stroller so i suppose that would work, or spinning and she can sit in her carseat in front of me i guess.0

Walking at a good pace is the best exercise to burn fat/baby weight. Make sure you eat enough calories throughout the day, it varies depending on current weight though. Eat whole grain foods as it will give you more energy because it has not been processed. Good luck!0

You don't say your height, but 1200 calls sounds like to little. I do aprox 2000 and I am 5'10" at 280. What with chasing after the kids and all the walking, i think you should be more around what I do.0

If you are breastfeeding your baby, then 1200 cal isn't enough to maintain milk supply. If you are nursing increase this by 300 - 500 cal depending on how often and long you are nursing.0

I lost all but 3kg of my baby weight (prob about 7kg) through walking and not eating between meals. If you can get a few hills in that will help heaps. (Don't have to be big hills!!!) Not sure about the number of cals i was eating but was just having 3 meals a day...cereal, sandwich and basic dinner of meat, veg, carb. I made sure i pulled my stomach in while walking but that will be hard with bub in a sling! Put the weight back on when I had friends over for 5 weeks....now I have found mfp hoping to lose that again and more!
Good luck!0 -
Should add that stopped walking when friends were here and ate LOADS!!! No holding back. learnt my lesson now!0

Im not breastfeeding and im 5 foot 4 in so quite short. Im going by what MFP has said to eat kcal wise.0

Yup, I had stopped breast feeding by the time I got round to walking it off and I am 5ft 30
