What MFP has done for me.

Well I've been doing this for a few weeks and although I haven't lost any weight yet, my thighs are looking better and when I put my legs together there is daylight between my thighs!
So here's what am really proud of, normally when I get stressed out I head straight for a trough of chocolate and eat til I feel sick. Well yesterday I had a letter from the tax man, I had made a mistake on a return and they wanted the tax on £9200! I freaked but made myself phone the number and spoke to a really nice lady who explained what it was about. I went away, went through the files and realised what I had done, I phoned her back and explained and she said that was fine and actually I didn't owe any money at all. Just write what we had talked about and supply the new figures and print out and not to panic!
I've done the letter and sent it off.
I was absolutely shaking by the time I had dealt with this, and I DID NOT reach for the chocolate, I didn't even think about it1 Not only had I been very grown up dealing with something (yes I know I'm 47, but hey.) but I didn't need the choco fix either!
Go me!!!!

DEFINITELY go you!!
I'd have been headfirst in the chocolate too (and more or less actually did so at last year's returns, when my bank paid my tax in error TWICE. Hours of calls, kilos of chocolate and a great deal of stress later, they admitted it was their fault and did a "temporary transfer" till they could fix their mistake -- 2 months later!) Eeeek.
This year, I'll - hopefully - reach for my sneakers rather than Snickers if anything stressful happens!0 -
