Christine's Change

Greetings all the fitness pal members!
My name is Christine and I am from Michigan, I want to introduce myself to you all and if possible, would love all the support I can get from all of you. I read about how having support is the number one thing in your life and frankly, like anybody else probably here. I need it badly! The ones I love aren't very supportive but they barely have energy for themselves, so how can they have any for me? That's why I sort of rely on you guys already, I know I can help you guys because I'm always giving advice, I just don't know how to take my own.
However, if I have anyone of you supporting me, I am sure that I will be right behind you as well. Other then that, I'd like to say some more about me personally. If you aren't here to get personal or get to know me or understand me, just leave I guess and carry on your daily usual. For those interested, I'll try to keep my life story short, this has already become so long! This is how much I've been needing to do this plus needing others and to help others!
I'm 22 and I weigh about 275 pounds the last weigh in I ever had. ALMOST 300! My weight has continued to increase year after years, for the longest I actually stayed around 200-220. I gained about 50 pounds! This is after a break up with an ex and now a more serious yet at the same time more severe relationship/engagement with a man I love.
Crazy how much weight I've gained and noticed... I'm 5'4 as well! I'm pretty short! So I look pretty bad with all this weight and stand out terribly. I never cried at a bad photo of me but this year, there was a bowling picture taken and it was so terrible. It tore me up inside so bad to see myself that way. I know, this is a lot of negative right now but only for this short period!
Regardless of all my problems and believe me there is A LOT and a lot of others including my parents being rude and inconsiderate to me right now, I'm still hoping for the best and really making a change around for myself, my health and my emotional and mental state.
SO please, I'll join your journey if you join mine and lets work out all these things that bug us together! I need to stay positive and I know one of you are sweethearts to help! Wish me luck as well please.
SO good day and I'm Christine ^_^ and this is my life change/weight change.

Hi Christine,
Sue here, I am 5'5" and 230 and I understand your pain. Maybe we can support each other and get to where we are comfortable with our selves. I personally hate all pic's of me, I think they are totally disgusting!
What are you mini goals to get you going?
What are you willing to do to get you started and on your way?

Hello Christine, Jeri here 5"3 and 180 lbs on a once small frame. So difficult to see oneself this way! Support is great and absolutely necessary not only emotionally but for informational as well. I look forward to your success, this is a great place to be really focused on what you are actually doing to reach goals. I only recently started to try networking out and I am excited at prospect people as well rather than just silently using this great site!0

Darling. I admire that you're standing for yourself and making a difference....
I know my begging won't do any good unless you put effort in, but please please PLEASE do not stop.
I know how it feels to quit and just feel like a failure. But just....don't let yourself fail.
If you quit for a week, say "Whoops...gotta get back on there." Telling you right now, you'll do well if you refuse to stop.
.
I know what it feels like to have parents that aren't so kind to you.
My parents mean well, but they don't do it in the best way.
They pretty much track how much I'm eating and throw my weight in my face when I eat too much.
They say "Didn't you just eat?" or "Stop eating"...flat out, just like that.
And my Dad says stuff (totally meaning well) like "All these doctors visits are probably because of your weight"...
.
My Mom is going to Curves right now. She's overweight same as I am and I admire her, but she's tough.
She gives some tough love and it's hard to take the heat.
.
I know that might not be the same thing that you're getting from your parents, but it's tough to deal with my parents too.
It's tough when a lot of people don't understand you counting calories and using an app to lose weight.
But we're not just using an app, are we? We're actually doing something about it.
.
Grrr, I talk too much.
Hope to hear from you more and more. DON'T STOP BELIEVING!
Teeheee, so cheesy, but awesome...I love that song.
And it's so relevant....even if it IS cheesy (which it totally is...hahaha).
.
Love you.
Good luck to you.
-Mika-
P.S Hope I don't sound creepy with the "darlings" and "I love yous"....I just..that's how I talk sometimes.0 -
Sue ---
My mini goals as of the past few months have been drinking less pop after seeing my mom lose a couple pounds, going to gym but I can no longer do that because I do not have financial backing. It'd be ten bucks a month but my parents are really not helping nor anybody else around. It is hard in this economy to do anything.
I made a goal today to lose at least the 75 pounds extra I have, at least get back down to 200 right now.
I also want to eat more fruits and vegetables, I'm willing to do a lot but I don't know if my motivation can do it, at least not right now I am sure it'll rise back up though.

Jeri---
I am glad you understand as well and thank you for everything, please add me and let's keep up together.0
