I want to loose 49 lbs in 38 weeks!! Today is day 1!

I am new to MFP as of today :) My friend told me about it and so I decided to join. I have never, and I mean NEVER felt comfortable sharing my weight or anything about my fitness journey because I have always been embarrassed, but keeping it a secret hasn't gotten me anywhere so I decided something like this is perfect!

I am the most out of shape I have ever been in my life and my weight has gotten out of hand. Today is day one of counting every calorie that goes in and working out and eating right :) My goal is to lose a little more then 1 pound a week to achieve my goal of 49 pounds in 38 weeks!!

Anyone have any tips for a beginner like me? How do you stay motivated?? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

    This is what I do and it works for me -
    I weigh myself at the same time every week once a week don't get on the scales any other time (I have broke this self imposed rule and it did me no good).
    weigh your food if necessary - don't guess.
    I have a fitbit and use that to log my calories burnt - this has helped keep me motivated and I love it :)

  • oh this is my day1 also.. starting again.. im planning to have oats and grapes only plus my super friend mr. elliptical bike for 30 mins each night.. hoping to stay motivated. and its cool when there is someone to remind you that you should be motivated.. im really missing my old me.
