Several NSV's today

Today I had to attend an all day risk management class at the local college. This resulted in a LOT of walking. Normally I would have been freaked out by the mere thought of walking that much, a lot of it is even uphill. Today I was excited because I could get in some extra walking. I was in a large group, and every time we had to walk somewhere, I was in front, and someone ended up commenting on me walking too fast. Me, who weighed 338 pounds not very long ago! And when we got to class, there was a ton of pastries for breakfast. I did not touch one, and did not even want to. Then for lunch, we walked to a campus restaurant and I made a great salad, and then was not sad once about all the bad stuff I was not eating the others were. After lunch, we go back to plates full of cookies and brownies, which I once again ignored and was not sad about at all. Oh, and I forgot to mention that in class we had to sit in school type seats with little desks attached, and my whole &ss fit into the chair comfortably! These things mean more to me than the pounds, because it means I am living a normal life again, doing most of what I want without my weight interferring!

what a wonderful day! congrats on all you have accomplished, both on and off the scale!
  • Congrats!!! So happy for you. It truly is an NSV ("non-scale victory" for new readers) when you don't have to worry about fitting in a chair or even breaking a rickety chair. Freedom from food obsession and food envy--Good for you!!! :flowerforyou:
  • Congrats, all those things are awesome!!
    Thanks for sharing!!

I will admit my @$$ doesnt fit comfortably in those white plastic yard chairs and by next summer I want to be able to not only sit in comfortably but cross my legs.

    Very happy for you!!
