Bruised sole of foot

I'm the queen of jacking myself up (not a new thing lol I'm coordinated and a clutz) I was running Wednesday after some heavy rain, well I'm running along a dirt road when wham the top arch of foot thwacks right into the top of a rock  it's the end of my run so I go home- its sore but meh it's walkable but sore. Yesterday I walked to the library with the kids in the evening (after taking it easier throughout the day) well I was hurtin for certain by the time I got home. Run this am and hit 20 minutes in and wham omg from sore to paiiiiin but a bruised kinda pain. Power through get home, made decent time for a bruised foot sit down and ice...now the question- I have a 5K next Saturday and a 6mile long run tomorrow do I run the whole 6 miles, do maybe 3 miles? I usually run 3.5 miles on run days (3-4 days a week) take the day off entirely? I have a 10k on oct 27 and I need to train but I can't train broken lol

I would say take a day off and let your foot recover. Running is high impact and might make pain worse, give it a rest. (just my suggestion :) )

Been there, done that. I agree with above poster, give it a day or two to recover before resuming running. In the meantime, there are other aerobic exercises you can do that wont be affected by this injury, like swimming and cycling.

No gym membership I might just take the weekend off lol! Last weekend I hiked/bouldered 11 miles so I haven't had a full day off in two weeks (hike/boulder for fun) yesterday was a no run day
