Fruit allergies and acne

I've been going through a really bad breakout lately, and since my skin is naturally acne-prone, I figured my hormones were once again out of wack for one reason or another and that my breakout was no big deal. But these aren't normal pimples -- they're large cystic bumps that hurt and itch.
I went to get my hair done today, and my stylist said my acne looked like the same kind that she had when she discovered she had fruit allergies. This makes sense, because I've always been sensitive to fruits. When I was about six years old, I had a bad allergic reaction to strawberries and the skin on my arms and face broke out in giant itchy bumps (different from the acne I have now). I couldn't eat strawberries for years, but gradually worked them back into my diet. Later bananas made my throat tighten up and made my gums itchy. Recently plums and peaches have been doing the same thing.
My point is, I thought strawberries were okay to eat since I haven't had any issues with them for years. But since I started making berry smoothies every morning for breakfast (these include strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries), my skin has been in lousy shape. I'm going to stop eating them for awhile to see if this is really what's affecting my skin.
Do any of you have fruit allergies similar to the ones I've described? If you do, do you still try to work fruit into your diet, or just avoid it completely? Does avoiding it make it harder to maintain a healthy lifestyle?

Too many oranges or tomatoes will break me out but my worse offender foodwise is dairy0

I'm thinking that might be it as well! I use 2% milk in my smoothies, so dairy could just as likely be the culprit! I might switch to almond milk to lower my dairy intake.0 -
oranges and tomatoes give me pimples....dairy will give me the cysts and although I say dairy - milk is the worse. So wise to cut it out for now. And it was my dermatologist years ago that told me that milk was the offender- not just my best guess0
