Okay so i've been doing MFP and exercising 5 days a week for a month and a half now and have seen changes in the scale and body and feeling really good. I have been eating on average about 1500 calories a day, am male and 189cm tall, also burning about 600-800 calories.
When i started I was 115kg and I weighed myself yesterday morning before breakfast and saw that I am now 105.6kg.
The question is am I losing muscle instead of fat?
I feel like it's fat and have compared pictures and my stomach has definitely shrunk. I have just been reading about 'starvation mode' and it's making me stress out a fair bit.

Are you eating what MFP set up for you for calories? Good healthy foods? Lots of water?
Maybe eating back some of your exercise calories? Feeling fine? If all those things are
happening, You're probably fine, and gaining muscle. If those things are not happening
you might want to re-evaluate your habits.0 -

thanks for your reply.I eat healthy foods sometimes go over my sodium levels but not by much (maybe 200mg) MFP set me 2000calories but I don't feel like I need that much and would have to force myself to eat to get there. I feel like I eat enough during the day and do not get hungry and have enough energy for 1 hour of cardio and a weight routine 5 days a week. I also only drink water on occasion i have had powerade zero but i drink water 98% of the time.0 -
As long as you are doing a routine with weights 3x a week, you will gain muscle, not lose it. Try to make sure you hit your protein goal every day, even if you don't eat all your calories.0

okay I will try eating all the protein given, thanks0

Its not as easy for your body to burn muscle as some people make it seem. I think youre probably fine.0
