Am I doing this wrong?

Lately I've been trying to do crunches and reverse crunches, things I've never done before. In P.E. we did jumping jacks, which just hurts my boobs and toe touches. I can do 3 sets of 20 crunches and 2 sets of 20 reverse crunches.... In five minutes. Am I doing this wrong?

I have no idea? Are you feeling the burn?0

Well yeah, it starts to hurt towards the end of a set but it goes away real fast when I stop. I end up stopping after that amount because then I get out of breath and I get freaked out that it's gonna be one of those out of breath things things that make me rest of the day wheezing and coughing.0

For starters, There's a difference in sit-ups and crunches.
-a crunch is where you're only working the ab muscles and the back
-sit-ups you fully rise up, chest -to -knee
(Just making sure that's clarified - since you said you hadn't done these in PE class)
The best way to do a crunch is to lay down, and have your finger tips even with your knee caps (on the floor) and then slide your hands on the floor towards your feet until you feel the "burn" in your abs.
Make sure you're breathing properly, otherwise you will be winded for awhile, and start off slow.
