dealing with menopause
Hello fellow MFP lovers,
I have been on this site since Feb this year and I love it. It has helped me so much. But lets get to my point, my wife has menopause or pre menopause. I am not sure but I need some advice from men and women alike.
She is 47 and has been feeling like this for about a year. Hot flashes, no sex drive etc. I have purchased books, cd, natural progetorone cream from Dr. Lee, all natural supplements from Puritan Pride to help with flashes, drive and such.
She wont have anything to do with any of them. She gets angry when I try to understand the problem or get her to help fix the problem. I will agree I am motivated by my own motives but I do sympathize with her.
My question is this, "She seems to have lost all interest in sex. What do I do?" I have tried being patient, exercised, take care of the need myself (at times, but its not the same) I miss her, no foreplay, no cuddling. no romance, no snuggling.......sigh.......I do love her and am trying but am so frustrated.
I will listen to advice from all men and women alike .... feel free to email me if you so desire.
thank you for listening.

I think she should go to the doctor. Help is available! :flowerforyou:0

Yeah, I agree she needs to see her doctor.
If things don't change, tell her you want to go to counseling. If she won't go, go without her. This is a huge issue, and it's not just the menopause. I went through menopause, and I'm telling you, it's something else. The physical changes can be managed. There is some psychological reason in play here.0 -
God bless you for looking for help. My wife refuses to and my sons & I have been putting up with her mood/temperature/ appetite swings and it is HELL!0

I agree with the consensus of seeking help, both medical and psychological. Best wishes!0

First off let me say Kudos to you for caring enough to look into what your wife is going through and although she's non-receptive to your attempts at least you are trying. I wish my husband was more like you - he's patient, I'll give him that but if he researched, bought me creams, books and the like - wow that would be awesome! I'm going through this - have been for a while - and let me tell ya it is one heck of a roller coaster ride. So Kudos to you.
I would suggest a doctor for her or even for you - go to your doctor and ask him if that's part of the normal menopausal side effects. Just to make sure nothing is wrong and to get suggestions.
I'm wondering ..... have you told her how you felt - how you really feel? That you miss her. That would melt my heart right about now.
I guess I have no real suggestions - sorry - but I do wish you luck. And bless you for having patience cause some days the roller coaster ride is really rough.0 -
Sounds like menopause to me.
I would suggest going to the doc, because, well, we should from time to time, and menopause is one of those times.
There's a great group of women on here, dealing with all the same issues she's describing.
