Home workout dvds vs going to the gym and lifting

Just wondering if home DVD exercises like px90! Insanity and ripped in 30 count for lifting weights or if it's better to just go to the gym and lift heavy. Are the benefits the same?

If done both and prefer working out with other people. It motivates me to work harder. However, home workouts has it benefits when you are press for time!!!0

I'll admit, I'm a home workout DVD fanatic! But, the only negative thing about it (in my oppinion), is that I'm now scared to try out the gym because I know nothing about the equipment.

Oh, also, the home DVD's focus on FAST weight loss, which, in the long term would be highly difficult to maintain due to the high intensity of it. But, all in all, I prefer the comfort of my own home.

I don't go to the gym so I can't really say but I do a lot of home exercise DVD's because they're a lot cheaper than gym membership and I don't have a lot of money at the moment, you still lose weight and burn calories by using them .... I think it just depends on your situation.0

I did the gym for years. I'm way more comfy at home. No rules, I do what I want. The DVDs have opened me up to a whole new way of staying fit.
I will probably join a private gym someday when I can afford a personal trainer for every session. That would be fantastic. But, I've built out my garage into a gym and I love it. In the long run, having my own gym is way cheaper than a membership.0 -
I don't like DVD's... I don't need one to lift weights.
I would work out at home if I had a home gym, but I don't. Some day I will hopefully.0 -

I prefer lifting weights (bench and barbell) at home while watching Ellen or What Not To Wear. :laugh:0
