I have been counting calories for a little over a month now and have seen very little improvements in my weight and general size! I'm under my calorie goal 90 % of the time andI exercise regularly (I take dance classes for 10 1/2 hours a week and go to the gym on top of that) I am looking to lose weight and inches but so far, neither have been sucessfull. What am I doing wrong?! How can I make this work?!

    1) Your diary is not open.
    2) You are probably exercising way too much
    3) You are probably eating way too little
    4) You give no indication of how tall you are or how much you have to lose.

You may want to take on a more productive attitude. Being able to manage your weight and body is a life-long practice. Success should be measured by SMART goals.

Set a realistic goal, such as to lose five pounds in two months. Celebrate that success, take what you learned from the experience, and set a new goal.

The way you approach fitness and body composition goals needs to be big-picture, long-term thought process. Otherwise you will get stuck and jaded by fad diets and lack of quick results.

Log and record your food & drink so that you know exactly how much you are consuming.

Although a bit brusque, what the other posters say is true.

Second, if that is you, you should be quite close to your weight goal. It always takes a lot more work when you are close to your goals.

Third, 90% of the time at the daily or the weekly level? It is critical you make your weekly goals, as you can gain a lot of weight on 10% 'over'.

Fourth, exercise is great. You might want to add a little strength training to reshape your body - especially your core.

Fifth, a pound a week isn't 'a lot' of change. But it adds up.
