Hello MFP,

On my last week of insanity and I've been doing every workout and eating right (only a few mess-up days). I hate to say it, but I'm a little frustrated with the results. Overall, I haven't had much of a net loss on the scale, sometimes a pound or two but mainly just steady. My measurements are about an inch less from what they were when I started which is good...

I can't help but be a little frustrated with these results. I will post my before and after photos in a week when Insanity is done. Let me know if my frustration is unfounded... I actually can't wait to finish so that I can start a weight lifting routine, i feel like that is what is missing. These are my stats:

Height: 5'9"
Weight: 144.6
Measurements (pre/current)
Waist: 30.5 / 28.5
Hips: 33.8 / 33.75
Butt: 39 / 38
Thighs: 23.5 / 22
Bicep: 11.3 / 11
Bust: 34 / 33.5
Chest: 31 / 30

overall, i've defiantly improved. Some of my scores were high early-on but I think it was due to improper form.

I've been making strides in all the strength fitness tests and maintaining or beating others.

    Thanks for the encouragement!

What results were you expecting? It is a cardio program so you were not going to put on muscle and it does not appear you have much extra weight to lose, if any at all.

If you see improvements on the fit test, there are your results.

I was expecting a bit more weight loss based on the videos. In the videos it looked like a lot of body weight exercise combined with cardio which is slow muscle build with cardio. I suppose it is more cardio. The precieved effort with Insanity is, like it says, insane.

Overall, I've totally seen results, just not as much as I expected and compared to what I've experienced from other styles of exercise with the same or less amount of effort.

I lost 20lbs during my first round of insanity then another 20lbs during the second. But I had the weight to lose. If you are 5'9" at 144 lbs, you don't have the extra weight to lose.

after my 2nd round, i had to switch to p90x to get physical results. my fit test kept improving but my inches/weight stalled. after p90x i got to a different weight and added muscle, then went back to insanity. now i do both to keep my results up. it took both for me to "learn" my body and how to get it to change :)

    Hi,
I also did Insanity, and actually my measurements are quite similar to yours in all areas (except weight, i'm about 157). I also found that my results were a little disappointing in that I literally saw no weight loss, and no change in measurements. I did every workout (except 1 fit test when i was sick), and my eating was not terrible. I even tried to take their advice and up my calories.

anyway, i have to agree with you that weights are what is missing. One of these days i'll get into a routine... I'd really like to try Chalean extreme to get a mix of cardio and weights.

So, not to worry, you are not alone! I hope your next program gives you better results! :)

    Cheers,
    krnl

    Yosemite4vr,
Even though i just started Insanity, as others have said you don't really have that much to lose, but looking at your diary (sorry I did) you have some really high burn days, if all your doing is Insanity once a day its pretty hard for someone your weight/height to burn that much.. make sure your not overestimating your calorie burn.. then on the flip side I notice your either undereating or not logging everything your eating.. getting these 2 things in check and then playing with your overall TDEE number (and then a cut) to get the weight loss will help you... but Insanity isn't really going to get the ideal body cause it really is mostly cardio except a few moves, gotta add some weight lifting in at some point to really look as some of the people do in the videos (core/abs should be there if your bf% is low enough though)

Thank you!! That makes me feel much better!! I do however feel so much stronger, i know my cardio has increased and I've lost inches. I am starting a weight lifting routine next week, so maybe now I am in a better place to start that? :D

    Hi Greenrun,
You are more than welcome to look at my diary. That's why I have it open :)

I do have a heart rate monitor and I log based on what the HRM tells me. I've used the HRM for a while and know it to be very accurate. I can tell you that I kick some major *kitten* in my workouts and majority of the time I am giving it all i got. The second month of Insanity I burned about twice as much as the first month. As for eating, I do log everything I eat and get a lot of fat and protein so I'm just not hungry enough. I try to eat clean but sometimes I slip up.

Well I have one more week of Insanity and I will post pics after. There is a difference, just not the one that I would like. I'm starting a weight lifting routine with a trainer next week, so I'm very excited about that.

    Thanks for the response!!
