Ab workouts?

So I absolutely hate working out my abs! I do the workouts but always dread them. What do you guys do for an ab workout? I'll take all the tips I can get! :)

Squats, deadlifts, standing overhead press. No need to isolate the abs, spend that time on more worthwhile exercises I'd say. Especially if you had ab isolation exercises. Just don't do them!

I don't do a whole lot. I usually just do a couple planks and call it a day.

I love ab/core work and add it in on a regular basis. Right now my two faves are ChaLean Extreme's You've Got Abs and Rodney Yee's Strengthen Your Core practice (on his Daily Yoga DVD). For people who hate traditional ab workouts, I always recommend trying yoga ab/core workouts.

Two good ab DVDs that have, IIRC, five different approx. 10-minute chapters using different approaches/techniques (i.e., pilates, traditional, stability ball) are Kathy Smith's Tummy Trimmers and SELF's Firm Flat Abs Fast (with Violet Zaki). There's a lot to choose from, modifications if you need them, and, IMO, no dread factor.

8 min abs.. totally cheesy but it's only an 8 min investment and it's effective!
