Looking for those who live in northernmost states

Hi all. I am looking for people who live way up north, such as Montana, New England, North Dakota. I have had great suggestions from other people on other sites. Just looking for some info here. Any info much appreciated!

Thanks, everyone. I was going to ask what the housing situation is like (i.e. is it affordable) and if there are good, somewhat small communities in those states. Thanks again!

I'm in Minnesota, but I'm a city girl. Not familiar with the smaller communities here.

I am in NH ,..... LOVE it up here.... isn't cheap, though .... well, northern NH is cheaper, as is western ... but don't even look at MA, as it is pretty expensive... NH is great - we have oceans, lakes and mountains, all within a 1 hour drive! Message me if you would like more info :)

There are houses here from 50,000 (fixer upper) to really nice about 120,000 to really really nice at about 180,-200,000 ish.

I live in small town MN. Just like anywhere the closer you go to a bigger populated city the higher the prices go. Actually even in LaCrosse WI, right across the river (our bigger "city") varies a ton just by the area you want to live in.

You could always look at online realtors :)

Are a few of them from my town.
We purchased our house for 49,000 and have a football field sized yard. Have changed things around a lot since then too, kind of a blank canvas.

i live in RI (part of New England). We're the smallest state but I think there's a good mix of communities here. We have some very populated areas and some very country areas. The weather tends to be unpredictable and winters can be bad. but otherwise I love living here.

Northern MN here. The cabin is 13 miles south of the Canadian Border.

Your question is pretty vauge. Unlike North Dakota, Minnesota and Montana have drastically different terrains depending on where in the state you are.

Our cabin in the NE of MN is in the Boreal Forest region. NW MN is swampy and farm fields. North Central MN is lake country with old growth hardwoods. Central central MN is farm country. SW MN is rolling prairie country. SE MN is river bluff country. There is the twin cities located in the SE as well but most of us from MN despise the twin cities so take that for what it is worth.

I'm in Canada, that's pretty North...

Edit: I see you're looking for a home...if you'd like to be a Canadian, houses are dirt cheap here, i just got a 2 bedroom bungalow, on over an acre, with a full basement, paved driveway, and a full garage, for $19,000...

The cost of living in NJ rivals that of California so rule that out. It's impossible to live in this state!

New Hampshire is incredible. I have lived in CT and MA but this my favorite. If you get up towards Concord (and North) things are cheaper. Remember NO STATE INCOME TAX!
