Trophy Wife

Some people might think of the topic as degrading, but I had to admit I smiled today when someone called me a "trophy wife".

I've been working hard and I'm the most fit I've ever been. Next month my husband and I will have been married for 12 years and I turn 39 next week.

Here's to being fit in my forties and beyond.

    Awesome. I wouldn't take offense at all. Your husband knows he loves you for you and you know it too. If others want to call you a trophy wife then WOOT for you!

    Definitely take it as a compliment!! Why would anyone think it was degrading?? My husband calls me his trophy wife (to me, not other people) and I love it!! We've been married almost 28 years and he's loved me through all my weights and all of our trials and triumphs so it's great that I can be something he considers very special. :flowerforyou:

    I have a different perspective on the term "trophy wife." My wife's ex literally treated her like a trophy. As in something you take down off the shelf to show when others are around but otherwise is left on a shelf untouched.
    But for that I am thankful. He saved her for me. So as much as I think he was really creepy, I'm glad he never touched her.
    I will never treat my wife like a trophy wife nor would I ever to consider calling her one. I like touching her too much. :bigsmile:
