Guilt from past failures ....

My parents were in town this weekend, and it is always great to see them. But I felt awkward about my diet. I lost weight before, and put it back on. So I feel self conscious about telling them that I can't eat something because it isn't on my plan. I feel I am taking a much healthier approach... and plan to stick to it. But I feel guilty for my past failures. I am struggling to let them go.
How to put the guilt of past failures behind me?

Easy answer -- just do it.
Unfortunately, it's not so easy.
I guess the best answer is to ask a question... Who are you losing weight for? Are you doing it for your parents? Or, are you doing it for yourself?
Consider every last diet as a learning experience -- not a failure.0 -
Thanks for your feedback. It is just a matter of getting that info from my brain to my heart.0

Anoher good way to deal with others' perceived judgement is to not discuss it with them. Don't tell people you're "on a diet" or that you "can't eat something" just either eat what they're having in smaller portions, or order healthy food if you are at a restaurant. You can always say that it "sounded good" because you're going to have to learn to like healthy food.
Then, just make yourself proud. Every time you order better, or eat less, you should be very proud of yourself.
Always look forward, never back, unless you are planning on time travel.....and that applies to any regrets in life. You can't unring the bell. What's done is done. Move forward.
