Need exercise help!

Hello everyone,

I just got back from the gym at my condo, and it's terrible. I've been before, but really only focused on the treadmill. The one treadmill is in okay condition, but the rest of the machines (another treadmill, stationary bike, elliptical and some kind of ski machine) are all in really bad shape. I was using the bike and you could tell it was in need of serious repairs because the resistance kept changing and was not the same as what was on the screen. The weight machines are also not that great. Half are broken and half of them the cables stick.

At any rate, I was thinking about options. I could simply stick to running and come up with a free weight program. I could use a modified version of P90X where I do the weight part in the gym with running and/or some of the cardio videos. Has anyone ever done P90X in an apartment or condo and NOT had complaints from the people below? Or, have you been able to do it without ruining the floors from all the moving around? I was scoping out the gym and there's nowhere I can really do a cardio video in the gym because it's so tiny.

I may have to think about this one for a bit! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I do my P90X in my condo all the time, however, I live on the bottom floor. If you do your cardio videos during normal hours your neighbors should not complain. I say any time from 7am-9pm would be OK times. OR you could keep the cardio videos for the weekends during the day and run/do weights M-F. I hope this helps!

I think I may give P90X a whirl (modified a bit). I think I'll try and do the weight days in the gym and substitute some cardio days for runs.

WorkOutWorld (WOW) is running a special $5 a month.
If you don't have a WOW close to where you live, maybe you have a park close by that has a track to walk and/or run.
There are exercises that can be done at home with weights and resistance bands that will not make you a noisy neighbor.
Another idea is to join the YMCA and use the pool for water exercises and swimming.

I have never done P90X but I have done the 30 Day Shred (which involves lots of jumping) in my second floor apartment. I haven't had any problems so far but I do try to keep it to times that I won't keep anyone awake if I do make some noise. :) good luck to you!
