Hello! My name is Jessica and I live in South Carolina. I just joined MFP 5 days ago and so far so good! Other than obvious reasons (to lose weight) I am here to get healthy. My husband and I are planning to start trying to get pregnant around the end of the year and I want to be as healthy as I can be when that time comes!!!
How I got here...I have struggled with my weight my entire life. Back in 2006/7 I was at my "perfect" size, the bad part is I don't know what I did to get there. Then I met my husband...we were happy and in love...and I was no longer constantly worried about everything I ate. By the time we were engaged I had gained 20 pounds! I managed to lose most of that by the time we got married...but not in a healthy way (shake fasting) and gained it all back. We have now been married for 2 years and I don't like the fact that I have "let myself go" the way I have. I guess I have been in denial about my weight gain for a while because most of my clothes still fit...not as good as they should, but they still fit.
I have decided that I want to make a change and make it permenant! Last week I got my Total Gym home equipment, joined MFP and started doing green smoothies. The scale has not moved, but I feel better and I have more energy...the scale will soon follow (hopefully)! Feel free to friend me...I need all of the support and motivation I can get!
Starting Weight - 192
Goal Weight - 160
Height - 5'8"
Size - 10/12

Feel free to add me too. MPF makes tracking food/exercise SO easy! I'm also working with a great nutritionist and that makes a world of difference to me. Together we can do this!0

WE are here to help and I am living proof what calorie counting, exercise and committment can do . I went from 323 lbs to 145 lbs in 18 months (size 28/30 to an 8). I have been maintaining 140-145lbs for 3 months now. Feel free to message me, sorry I can't add friends right now as I have as many that I feel I can handle on a daily basis. My food diary is open.0

Hola Jessica,
This is the place to start.....For me I put myself on a 1300 calorie diet. MFP gave me too much calories..then after losing 10 pounds , I started using Leslie Sansone via DVD..walk a mile at home and its working for me. I went to you tube and looked at all the videos to help my situation. Everyone is different and you do what works for you. Good Luck and Let the weight fall off.0
