Hello hello!
I just joined today, but I've been trying to lose weight since January. I'm getting married next July and while I want to look great for my wedding, I also want to be healthy for a long long time. My dad is the biggest reason for this second part. He is 45 years old, 6'4" and 350 pounds. He's beginning to have all sorts of medical problems and it scares me how unhealthy he is. I eat just like him. Meat and potatoes, chips, candy, pop, everything. Up until January, I was always a little on the heavy side, but very active because I played college basketball and worked out six times a week. But then I had to stop playing due to a severe back injury and basically stopped all physical activity. Right now, I'm am 6'2" (nope, I wasn't the point guard!) and I weigh 205 lbs. I would LOVE to be down to 160, but that hasn't happened since I was in eighth grade. Unfortunately, I also love to cook and bake, and I am damn good if I do say so myself. And I'm also good at lying to myself and others about working out. My fiance wants to help keep me accountable, but he's in the middle of harvest season and he's not home enough to help me out.
Any friends on here would be welcomed! I would really appreciate any help staying motivated and being accountable. I'm really insecure about my body, so I don't talk to any of my friends or family about this.
Thank you in advance!!!

We can keep each other accountable and motivate one another at the same time. We CAN do this! I had a major set back today, but I will get back on track tomorrow. This is a great place. sending friend request.0

You and I are here for the same reason, my wedding is April 27th! I believe in you, you are so young it will be much easier than you think! Stay positive, keep going, always push as hard as you can!0

You are going to look stunning on your wedding day no matter what because you will be healthier! I have struggled with my weight most of my life and i finally feel like I can do this now. The biggest thing that has helped me become more motivated and less harsh on myself is to just take it one day at a time. Changing one thing a day is sometimes all it takes! Also, I've been known to throw everyone's junk food out of the house to prevent myself from eating it and shaking my booty while cooking to burn extra calories.0

Joining this site in general is actually really motivating. You'll see! When it tells you, "If every day were like today, you'd weigh X in 5 weeks," it really makes you feel like every day counts. That being said, remember that it's long term that really makes a difference. So if for one meal or even one day you don't meet your goal, all is not lost:) Props to you for wanting to be healthy and not just thin:)0
