A few people have asked for my recipe for a pie I made the other day (which was delicious)
Recipe name: Steak n Ale pie
Number of servings: 9
Ingredients Calories Carbs Fat Protein Fiber Sodium
Generic - Ox Cheek, 24 oz. 612 9 16 101 0 280
Onions - Raw, 2 large 126 30 0 3 4 9
Mushrooms - Raw, 500 g 110 16 2 16 6 20
Spices - Pepper, red or cayenne, 1 tbsp 17 3 1 1 1 2
Marcum - Black Pepper-Coarse Ground, 2 tsp 40 8 0 0 0 0
Real Ale - (4.0%) - Beer, 1 pint 200 0 0 0 0 0
Red Wine - Uk Pub Small - Alcohol, 125 ml - 1.6 units of alcohol 85 5 0 0 0 7
Maggi - Cube, 4 cube (4gr) 20 4 0 4 0 4,400
Carrots - Raw, 3 medium 75 18 0 2 5 126
Spices - Thyme, fresh, 1 tsp 1 0 0 0 0 0
Jus-Rol - Light Puff Pastry Sheet, 1 container (320 gs ea.) 1,062 122 52 20 7 0
Total (for whole pie): 2348 (cals) 215 (carbs) 71 (fat) 147 (protein) 23 (fiber) 4844 (sodium)
Per Serving: 261 (cals) 24 (carbs) 8 (fat) 16 (protein) 3 (fiber) 538 (sodium)
I served mine with homemade potato wedges (cut potatoes into quarters and part boiled, then spray a little oil and roasted in the oven), carrots, cauliflower and petit pois.
Going to use the same puff pastry next weekend and make a chicken, mushroom and sweetcorn pie!!!

Forgot to say how to cook it! ha.
Basically brown the meat, onions and garlic in a pot until the meat i sealed - then you literally add everything else and then simmer for about 1 1/2 hours. then transfer to a casserole dish and top with the pastry - you can brush the pastry with a little bit of egg to give it a golden brown colour. cook in the oven then at 220' (so quite high) for around 35-40 mins.
