I am attempting To go Vegan for health reasons.
Any good websites with recipes are appreciated. Or any apps that may be helpful would also be appreciated ( preferably free ones)

Thanks

I use allrecipes.com and just search for "vegan". A lot of creative dishes pop up! I'm a vegetarian... can't quite make the leap to being a vegan! Good luck to you!

My favorite thing to do is just think of a food i really like (pizza, cheese steak, ect.) and then google it with vegan infront. I'll usually find some spaced out recipes and then can further browse the sites they're on. You may find something really amazing.

I would LOVE to be vegan. Right now it's not an option for me as my parents won't let me while i live with them. I admire anyone who is vegan though! :)

I'm an almost vegan. I'm a vegetarian and I also don't eat any eggs, but I do consume cheese (my one weakness). Check out a great book by Brendan Brazier called Thrive: The Vegan Nutrition Guide to Optimal Performance in Sports and Life.

It's awesome that you're going vegan. If you want to do it for more than just health reasons check out the documentary Earthlings. That's part of what did it for me. Also, I heard a great quote. I debated with myself knowing that it might not really make much of a difference in the world if I go vegetarian. The quote that helped me overcome that thought was, "Don't do nothing because you can't do everything."

    My favorite, easiest vegan meal:

1 Can of Black Beans (reduced sodium)
1 Can of Petite Diced Tomatoes (no salt added)
2-3 Tablespoons of Peppers (I blend banana peppers and jalapeños together so they're all diced up)

I just put it all in a pot and wait for it to boil. It's really good and easy.

I've been vegan for ten years... there are lots of easy ways to do it! Take your favorite recipe and veganize--use smart balance instead of butter, tofutti instead of sour cream, etc. Also, I LOVE the Vegetarian Mother's Cookbook--there are lots of vegan adaptations in there--and it's great even if your'e not a mother. When I'm cooking, I basically start all my meals with vegetables and go from there. I joined a CSA recently and I'm forced to check out new veggies I've never used! Being vegan is not really as hard as it seems--and it forces you to explore new veggies you might have not thought of before.

Some recipes aren't completely vegan (they're labeled), but you can add or omit items in the recipe to fit your dietary needs and specifications. Tried some vegan-ized versions of the dishes she makes and they were really yummy. Not only that, but most of the recipes are quick and easy.

http://www.food.com/recipe-finder/all/vegan <--- this is also a good site to search for recipes.

Good to know that other veggie lovers have
shared their favorites. It will motivate me to
try harder to become a more plant-based
    eater. Thanks to all. :)

    Thanks for all the suggestions!
I am doing it for health reasons mostly but I also watched the documentary forks over knives and that sealed it for me :-)
