I got all excited for a second, and thought you actually meant weightlifters!

Even though I am disappointed, I'll still be your friend!

If you'eretrying to specify, then I do mean strength training as well lol not just specific body building.

I meant weightlifting, as in the sport of weightlifting, comprising of the snatch and the clean & jerk.

Anyone who is into bodybuilding or strength training here is good with me though, as there are similar concepts in training, eating lots, cutting etc... that I don't have in common with the people just losing weight. The only difference being that I would be cutting to make competition weight, rather than as a bulk\cut cycle.
  • I love to lift weights. More into strength training over body building thou.

I never really saw any difference between the two.

There is a big difference actually. But, I am not going to argue with you. You're huge! And your dog scares the **** out of me.

There are tons of small diffs.

    For example:
A Weightlifter will modify his lift position to lift as much weight as possible.
A Bodybuilder will modify his lift to be harder on the muscle hes concentrating on, and while still a heavy lift, It may not be in an ideal method for maximum weight.

So for each exercise, they may be slightly different on where they set themselves... There may also be a diff in reps, % max weight, etc..

Yeah, bodybuilders it's all about TUT (time under tension). So, it's all in the rep range (say 8-12). More isolation lifts in this field as well.

Strength comes from much heavier weight and a lower volume (4-6 reps).

Weightlifting is more so your Olympic type lifts and powerlifting and it's mainly about lifting the max amount of weight one time. It's all about getting that lift. So it's common for power lifters, for example to shorten their range of motion. Bodybuilders don't want that. They want to keep the weight on tension much longer to induce hypertrophy.

I just lift regularly and focus on reaching 80% of my max weight with as high repetition as possible (12-15) Cardio helps maintain low fat levels and allows me to eat (cheat)!

And most people say dogs look like their owners!
