The bike, for sure. But that's what I love to do, I rarely lift weights.0

HIIT cardio (high intensity interval training)0

For just 10-15 minutes? I'd probably do some high intensity cardio.
But may I ask why you've gone all the way to the gym and only have 10-15 minutes to workout? The only reason I can think of is that you are there for a class but are early and don't want to stand around. In which case, my answer may vary depending on what the class is.0 -
If that were the only time I had period, weights.0

Cardio because I don't do weights yet. I should start soon, though.0

If that's all the time you have each time you workout, maybe you should alternate weights & cardio. You could do your upper body one day, cardio the next, then lower body. That's actually from Bill Phillips Body for Life, but he says 20 minutes of cardio... I was in the best shape when I did this, since it works the entire body.

If I had 15 mins I would spend the entire time deadlifting.
If I had 10 mins I would just run around the gym in the parking lot and go back home. y bother?0 -

Exercising for 10 minutes is better than not exercising at all.0 -
I'd do 5 sets of back squats.0

10 minutes is hardly time to get anything substantial done.
But if I only had 15 minutes I would do some Tabatas.
20 seconds on 10 seconds rest, repeat 8 times for 4 minutes, and do 4 sets of them which equals 16 minutes total.
My favs:
- jumping jacks/wall balls
- skater lunges/situps
- squat jumps/pushups
- jump rope/ball crunches
- box jumps/medicine ball twists0 -

that's a nice platitude, but I disagree.
10 mins is barely giving you time to get warmed up to perform at a decent rate of speed. Skip the warmup and you've just increased your risk of injury by 318% (I'm totally making that number up, but you get the idea). Hence my semi-serious suggestion of just running around the parking lot. If it takes 10 mins to get to the gym and 10 mins to get back home, just go for a 30 min walk/run/jog around your house. Much better than getting to the gym with that short of a time frame. What if you plan on squatting but get to the gym and I'm using the rack to do curls? Whole workout blown. Go for a walk with your kids/hubby/SO instead.0 -
5x5 of heavy deadlifts at the gym.
I can always do HIIT at home without any equipment.0 -
Weights since i can do cardio at my house anytime!0

Ok...first of all some of you are way over analyzing my workout routine. I do most of my workouts during my lunch. Sometimes i have an hour and sometimes 30-45 min. The reason why I still go to a gym on those short days is 1) to stay in the groove and 2) so I can change out of my dress clothes and be able to shower afterwards. Yes, in 10 minutes on the treadmill, in and incline, I can swat like a pig and need a shower. Most of my short days I can work out for 20 minutes but was unable to today. My question was do you do cardio or weights in a time crunch. Not to have people tell me I'm wasting my time. And, btw, I plan on walking outside tonight for almost an hour. If I'm paying for a gym membership I'm going to go there every chance I get. Thank you to those that answered with something I can work with in the future when I'm in a sudden time crunch.0
