I posted a little while ago when i had lost 20kgs. Read it here if you like http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/659033-20kgs-in-six-months
Today i am posting because i have lost 28.6kgs and reached my target of 85kgs. I set the target 262 days ago on 1 January with a hope to be 85kgs before my wife (lost 18kgs) and i travelled to NYC next week. Today I weighed in at 84.4.
It hasn't always been easy, it hasn't always been fun, but today, my goodness, it is rewarding.
I have discovered my key to weight loss and i think that is the real secret, every one has a different key, a different combination and you need to find what works for you. For me it was technology. MFP combined with a FitBit a Withings set of scales, a weekly weigh in and an absolute commitment to recording everything I ate.
I also think a long term goal with a trigger, our trip to NYC was our trigger. I signaled the end of a phase of our life to get where we wanted to be, then we can move into maintenance mode. I also think doing it over almost nine months means the weight will stay off because i haven't been dieting. I've been lifestyle correcting and not denying myself some of life's treats. I sat in the frequent flyer lounge last week and hat a couple of handfuls of Jaffas on my way to a footy game. Man they were good and i enjoyed them, guilt free.
Thanks MFP, you started me on my journey and i will be with you for a long time, but I'm changing my settings to maintain my current weight and having a holiday for a couple of weeks.
