PM or AM - why does it matter?

I did 30 day shred (level 1) this morning and then again this evening. I used a heart rate monitor to determine my calorie burn. This morning, I burned 408 calories and then this evening I burned 283, doing the same exact workout.
Is it just that when I did it early this morning my resting heart rate was so much lower (from being asleep) than from being constantly moving all day?
Should I work out in the morning or evening or does it matter?
Are my calories right (even though I used a hrm)?

in the morning u are not warmed up yet and it is harder on your system.. where as evening..you have already warmed up and your muscles have relaxed... just like the better shape you are the harder the work out you need to do to get you blood pumping0
