Is a 30 minute workout better than no work out?

I get an hour for lunch so my lunch usually goes as follows:
10 mins to get to the gym
5 mins to get ready
30 min workout
5 min to get ready for work
10 mins back

I just want to make sure that I'm not just wasting my time by only getting 30 minutes in on some days.

30 minutes is plenty enough of a workout, provided you are doing the right things..As always, some is better than none.

    HECK YES.
A 5-minute workout is better than no workout.
In 30 minute you can get a TON done. Just make it count.

I actually do the same thing! For me, 30 minutes a day equals 1 pound off a week. So for me, it's worth it.

how is it only taking you 5 minutes to get ready for work?? Am I the only one sweating buckets in a 30 minute workout?!
  • Absolutely!!!!! You can fry yourself in 30 minutes! Look up HIIT training and tabata training! 30 min is perfect!

Like a good friend just told me earlier today, doing 50% of something is always better than 0% because you over think it.
  • Idk how much you're used to but 30 minutes of high impact cardio...elliptical, etc is enough for me!

I guess I was just worried that I was getting all sweaty and looking terrible for work for nothing... Thank you all!

5 minutes moving is better than 5 min on the couch. I do long workoits but also 30 minute express classes at the gym. As long as I give 110% I know its more than enough.

    Luv this!
  • Anything is better than none! Actually it looks like most nutritionists, etc. recommend working out for 30 minutes at least three days a week. So if that's the minimum and you're getting in 30 minutes a day, that's awesome.

Any workout is better than none! If you can, try High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) to maximize on that time and increase your post-exercise calorie consumption (also known as excess post-exercise oxygen consumption) :)

If sometimes 30 minutes is all you have time for. Make the most of your time while you are there and it will not go to waste. I love your dedication!
