Enjoy your extra calories, take them up slowly to begin with to see what is right for you, I played around with my calories for around a month before I decided that 2000 worked for me (+ additional for exercise).

    Good luck :)

first of all congrats on achieving your goal!!!!!! way to go!!!!!! If you are happy with the way you look and your BMI is in the normal range then i see no reason to shift to maintaining :) i would say keep tracking everything for awhile at least so you know what it takes to maintain your weight.
  • Great job! I have 17 more to go and then i will be doing the same thing. I was wondering yesterday how to transition. Great work!
  • thanks everyone. i did initially put down 120 for my weight but i feel happy as i am (minus the gut) mfp gives me 1550 calories and i will still be doing my zumba and walks, i will continue to fill in my diary, i've got so use to eating such less calories i don't think i would even get to 2000 calories with the exercises too.

    i will build up slowly.
    thanks everyone
  • this site tells me i should be 121lbs http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm 111-146lb. should i keep losing weight?

Why would you feel the need to drop another 4.5lb just because an online calculator has told you that's what it thinks you should be?
I just looked at the page and the 'ideal weight' is defined by either 'Peoples Choice' figures or 'Medical Recommendation', do either of these say you are overweight at 125.5lb? I doubt it very much.
  • no, im going to stay at the weight im at and just maintain it and keep doing my work outs

Good luck! It is harder to maintain than to lose so don't forget to keep up all those good habits you have.

Um, no. Each person has a "happy" weight. I think you are there. MFP will calculate the calories you need if you re-set your goals to maintain. I just did mine and it said I should be 3 pounds lighter than I am and I'm already boney...

I've been "maintaining" since May, since then I've dropped another 10 (not eating enough), and I'm trying to gain another 2-5 pounds before I'm happy again. Make sure you eat enough because you will downslide like me if you don't...

    Good for you!

Take it easy at first with the extra calories and don't stress if the scale goes up a bit for a little while.

Well done on reaching this point. :flowerforyou:
  • i will keep jumping on the scales and still logging my food.

Thank you everyone for your posts

MFP has become so much a part of my daily routine now that I can't imagine a time when I wouldn't be logging my diary and exercise!
  • i eat breakfast and then log dinner so i know what i have left to play with, im addicted to mfp unless i go over in calories which is always my fault of course :explode:

I log absolutely everything, usually days in advance. For instance on Sunday night I logged all my meals right up until Thursday night.
Each day I'll have a little jiggle around of numbers and weights depending on how much I've burnt in exercise, it's like a game to me, see how much food I can get for my calorie money, lol!
  • I mess around with measurements too. I do dinner plans for the week, everything else I wing through
  • I finally switched my goals to maintain as well, though i dunno if i will be able to reach that amount of calories most days and i do want to still work out some
