Milk

Looking at the amount of fat I am allowed in my diet, I am going WAY over. My daily total is 40g however yesterday, and the day before I was over 100g.
It appears that most of this is down to milk (76g worth) as I drink a lot of tea.
Is Semi-Skimmed milk bad for you? Is going to Skimmed going to benefit me greatly?
I know, I could cut down on the tea but the weather has turned colder and I want warming up!

I think there must be some sort of miscalculation going on somewhere... there is approx 2g fat per 100ml of semi-skimmed milk. So to be consuming 76g of fat through semi-skimmed milk you must be drinking 3.8 litres of milk per day... I don't even want to imagine the amount of tea that would be! About 200 cups of tea per day?
I would double check your figures - something isn't quite right somewhere! :noway:0 -
agreed the numbers seem off0

Skim milk has zero fat so you may as well use that anyways! Most people can't stand it but I grew up with it so I don't mind. Mixed with cereal or tea I'm sure you won't even taste a difference!0

I can admit to 7 but not 200!
I thought it seemed a lot. I don't mind skimmed that much either so maybe worth switching so then I don't have to figure it out
Thank you ladies

You could also try other types of tea if you want to cut out the milk. Have you tried Rooibos (Red Bush) tea? Still has the same warming, comforting tea qualities, but no milk or caffeine...
Of course, sometimes caffeine is majorly necessary. I've taught myself to prefer black tea without milk! It's kinda bizarre how your taste buds adjust...0 -
Yes. I'll chime in on this too. One cup of whole milk has 8g fat. So in order to get 76g from drinking tea, I'd say you are drinking more milk than tea! You'd have to be drinking at least 9 cups of milk a day. I think you need to double check your selection...0

Maybe OP puts a tea bag in a gallon of milk and drinks that.0

Lets not forget the awful amount of sugar milk can put into your body. If you are trying to lose weight I would watch this.0
