Replies

  • I just started and would love to have a list of music that is motivating to work out.... please share what you have...
  • What kind of music do you like?
  • Funny enough I googled this a couple weeks ago. "best running songs"....I am trying a C25k

It gave me a few ideas........

This is what I have been using to keep me focussed and on track.

    Sexy and I know it
    Moves like Jagger
    Don't stop Believing
    Raise your Glass
    Crazy in Love
    Single Ladies
    Billionaire
  • great suggestions :)
Im going to give that lame answer we all hate...a little bit of everything really. Mostly indie, but that doesnt go down well with exercise so i tend to crank a little more techno-ish stuff.

if you have itunes and don't mind cheesy music that will kick your butt into gear and put a zip to your step. Download some Tribute to Glee workouts. OMG I have 1 hour downloaded onto my little ipod shuffle which is what I use to walk with. I must have the music synced to my walking just right cuz it makes me walk a LOT faster.

I just went and picked the songs I wanted and made my own playlist. LOVE IT
  • Heavy metal all the way for me - Metallica, AC/DC, Motorhead, Ozzy very motivating!!

I just started putting together a running playlist for my couch to 5K progaram. Each are about 150 bpm (or 75). Helps with pacing.

Survivor - Eye of the Tiger (Rocky, BABY!)
    Deep Purple - Highway Star
George Thorogood - Move it on Over
    The Knack - My Sharona
    Stevie Ray Vaughan - Pipeline
    Statix-X - Push It
    Rob Zombie - Superbeast
    Sublime - Wrong Way
  • Heres some electronic and dubstep music you might like !
    Skrillex- Bangarang
    Krewella- Killin' It
    LAD Soundsystem- Like A Man
Zedd- Stars Come Out (Datsik remix)
    501- Falling Skies
Danny Bird ft Netsky- Tonight (Cutline remix)
Estelle- American Boy ( Kill the noise remix)
Greg Parys- Why Don't We Just *kitten*
Kreayshawn- Gucci Gucici (Rock-It! Scientists Remix)

Five Finger Death Punch. They will get your @$$ in gear!
  • I sometimes download Tiesto podcasts from the iTunes library. They are all free and he produces a new one every week. This is more like trance/electronica but helps when you need to power through a workout.

Make youtube playlists. That's what I did!

Get into some B.O.B. and all the artists and collaborates with. He has a great build in his music and talks about life outside of the typical rapper's sex and money act.
  • if you can handle your music screaming at you i like and listen to these, they are not popular bands so most people don't even know about them, i will save the popular bands for everyone else to list  these are VERY heavy but help me run under 7 minute miles  the word alive, the ghost inside, in fear and faith, memphis may fire - some heavy but not quite so much bands: burden of a day, destroy rebuild until god shows (D.R.U.G.S.), destroy the runner,a day to remember, pierce the veil...... my final sugestion, if you have pandora radio you can make " the word alive" station and get ready for your heart rate to stay around 170  or if you prefer music you probably know " hard rock strength training" on pandora

I have a Spotify 'Workout' playlist. Each track is a different body part :D

I like it Rough: Lady Gaga = barbell squats, bicep curls
Earthquake: Labrinth = Butt to heel squats, lunges
Gold, guns, girls: Metric = Kickboxing
Power: Kanye West = Side squats and knee raises
Veni vidi vici: Black Lips = situps
Paper Gangsta: Lady Gaga = bench presses with barbell
Monster: Lady Gaga = reverse sit ups and crunches
Thomas Tallis 40 part motet = Yoga and stretch out like a mo-fo

Im not a HUGE Gaga fan but for some reason those tracks seem to suit me :D
