I smoked everyday for 10 years. I went to the e-cig about a year ago. It tastes so good lol so now i am just addicted to that. I can get any flavor from bananas to waffles and it feels too good to be true. I have no desire to smoke real cigs again. My skin is better and my lung function is better, no more coughing, and I didn't have any weight gain or cravings so it worked for me. I guess it's the less of two evils maybe.

This is the way to go if you can't give up the nicotine. At least you'll recover your lungs for jogging. The nicotine is the stimulant that keeps most smokers skinny, so you don't have to worry about gaining weight when you switch to E-cigs.

I smoke, but very little - I moved to a house where we don't smoke indoors, and that's gotten me from a pack a day to 5 a day. I have no intention of giving up, either. I smoke a lot socially, though, so when I'm out once or twice a week, I'll smoke more, like 7 to 10.
  • I'm thinking about trying the e-cig too. I bought one for my husband, he's a pack a day smoker, but of course, he doesn't use it. I'm not that bad, a pack lasts me a week. But I know when I start running again, the regular cigs will hold me back.
  • I smoke, and trying to lose weight and change to a healthier life style. My goal was to quit after losing 30 lbs. I figured I would have no excuse, if I could control what goes in my mouth by then, I could control it after I quit smoking too. I am noticing the more I exercise, the more I want to quit. My chest gets heavy and I get out of breath alot quicker. I want to be out of breath from working out, but the honest way, from true exercise! Not from my lungs wanting to go on strike. I have the E cigg, but have never tried the flavored one. I think that is a great idea. I do know they work pretty good. I used to use them at work.

I have the e-cig, went back to regular cigs when I was going through a very stressful period.
Wanting to go back onto the e-cig by the end of next month.
  • Sh4690: Did they work for you? Did you still go to reg cig? I used them at work, but always went back to smoking when I got off work. I have used the patches too. Curious if I can use them with the patches. I really want my lungs back..

Do not use them with patches.you will be double dosing hourly on nicotine. use one or the other but not both.

I quit smoking two years ago, joined a gym and thought 'OOOOOH thats it, wont need to worry about weight gain.'
    WRONG!
24lbs crept up on me so sneaky. No matter how hard I trained or what I ate I couldnt shift it so I started smoking again. But hey, they say changing your life is a journey not a day trip. Ive been treated for depression for the last 5 years so Ill quit again as soon as I lay my demons to rest. Preferably under concrete. And a tower block

Oh Duh! That does make sense! Man, I would probaly make myself toxic...
  • There is a book by Alan Carr, called Easy Way to quit smoking. My mother bought it for me. I read the first couple chapters and my cravings changed, weird....the book isn't gross, and DOES NOT talk about how nasty smoking is.

It talks to smokers about our "dirty" little smoking thoughts

I need to get back into the book, he claims by the end of the book, the majority of smokers stop quitting.

I was smoking last year whilst working out and eating healthy and had no intention of quitting smoking.

Then I couldn't afford the cigarettes any more lol so I quit about 4 months ago. I didn't have any weight gain from it, didn't get hungrier or have any unusual cravings, and I can breathe a lot easier now. But I was still able to get in a good workout last year when I was smoking :)
