My suggestion is to just try it! You can normally find quinoa in bulk food stores, so you can decide how much you want to buy. Its is a great way to buy just enough to try it.

The texture is not that far off from couscous, but the flavour is different. I recommend giving it a try and make the decision for yourself, but I personally really enjoy it. But it takes 45 minutes to cook, so you can't be hungry when your start cooking.

It has a slightly "raw" taste that might not appeal to some people. i love it. maybe try it as a porridge first, instead of oats for breakfast, sweetened with maple syrup or honey and some milk? I usually make it with cranberries and almonds and then some sweetened almond milk on top.

Blah....I tried it and wasn't a fan. I might have overcooked it though but even so, it wasn't what I expected.

we just tried this last night. i hate couscous and i didn't mind this as the flavour was different. It depends on the brand/type of quinoa that you get, as the one i had took about 20 minutes to cook :) I cooked it in chicken broth and added a few peppers in with it.

I hate couscous, but love quinoa! I cook mine in a rice cooker w/ broth. Or I add taco seasoning to it for a Mexican twist. You can substitute it for anything you would use rice in.

i love quinoa! Its got the most protein out of any grain out there! And it soaks up any flavor you put in it whether you cook it with broth or make it a breakfast item and add raisins and a bit of juice.
