Ready to start lifting, need some help

I'm currently doing Insanity and looking to add some strength training to my workout routines. I'm not concerned about bulking up, I know I won't, but I don't want to waste time doing exercises that aren't going to change my body the way I want. I most concerned with strengthening my arms, shoulders and butt. Does anyone have any good resources with either pictures or videos of what I should be doing and the equipment I need to do it with. Depending on what I learn I'm either going to join a gym or purchase it for use at home. I'm so lifting knowledge challenged that just saying do dead lifts doesn't help me.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Buy and read the SS book.0 -
Check your local library or Amazon for the book "The New Rules of Lifting for Women." It's awesome!
There a group here on MFP you can join for support, questions, etc.

If you are already a BB fan, check Les Mills Pump and Chalean Xtreme. I vote for LMP though. And you can even do a LMP/Insanity hybrid.0

Just got through the nutrition section. Why am I so scared of all those calories? I definitely am.0
