HeLp Me PlEaSe

I want to lose weight, and I want to build muscle, not bulky body building muscle but sexy strong muscle.
To do this is it still ok to set my goals to lose 2 lbs/week, or should I only set it to 1 lb/week...
I know you can't gain muscle on a calorie deficit but I don't want to lose fat and muscle on said deficit.
Overall I am quite confused, please help thanks!

Start with the group "Women Strength Training" on MFP or find other groups on here that will help you get started lifting and building the kind of muscle you want. Good luck!

eat protein...2.5g/kg of body mass and it will help retain your muscle while on a deficit
  • I know you can't gain muscle on a calorie deficit

Yes you can :) If you are overweight and have a high body fat percent to begin with, you certainly can grow muscle while at a caloric deficit. You can do this with intelligent weight training while consuming foods that are conducive to muscular hypertrophy.

If you're not consuming at least 1g of protein per pound of body weight while maintaining the caloric deficit, that would be a good place to start.

Intermittent fasting/LeanGains might be right up your alley. BCAA's can help to prevent muscular atrophy while fasting/eating at a deficit as well.

No problem at all. So basically capital letters are placed at the start of a sentence. Often times people will also place them at the beginning of each word in a title or subject line. The rest of the letters in a capitalized word should be lowercase.

If you need more help please let me know. :)

I think there's too much preoccupation with this sort of thing. Lose enough weight and the fat will go along with it. Do weight training while not starving yourself of protein and muscle will be added. It's that simple. 1 or 2 pounds a week as a weight loss goal is a good one.

^^^ This. Ignore the smart a**es. They are amusing, but not very helpful.

Lift heavy, make sure you're getting your protein, and good luck!

Basically, I'm doing C210k (Or rather Couch to a Ten Kilometer Run for my grammar nazis on here) and trying to do strength training 3 days a week.
