College help!!

Okay, so I need a little help here. The two main reasons why I started using MyFitnessPal was because my doctor recommended it to me, and because I was going to be starting college in six weeks, and I have a fear of the freshman 15. Yay for me, I lost around seven pounds before coming to college. But now I'm here, and I'm having trouble sticking to my diet. I even gained a pound back this week. :frown: I think the hardest this for me is the fact that all my friends will be like, "Let's go get food at 9:00 pm," or, "Let's go get pizza and wings!" Does anyone have any tips on how I can still stick to my diet while still having fun with friends?

Ah the college life. I swear I put on 10 lbs my freshman year just from eating breakfast sandwiches at 11 pm almost every night at our school diner. Socializing is integral to the college experience. If you're not very hungry when you go out with them, you won't eat as much. Even now I'll eat something healthy and filling before going out if I know I'll be around bad food. Also, choose things that are worth the calories. If the pizza is just okay, don't do that to your body. If the pizza is spectacular, however, enjoy that slice! Also, you're not the only one concerned about gaining weight. If you feel comfortable, talk to your friends about your eating choices. Even if they don't mind eating a whole pizza in one sitting, they could support your efforts to be a mindful eater. Enjoy college!0

Eating before hanging out with friends sounds like a really good idea! And thankfully the pizza isn't all that spectacular here, so I can just skip it. And my roommate is a fellow MyFitnessPal user, so a lot of the time, we'll eat healthy together. Thank you for the advice, it's quite helpful!
Hopefully I can continue my weight loss while being away from home.
