I know bread is good for you but with people fussing about carbs i get the impression that sometimes i shouldnt be eating it.
I was just wondering who still eats bread daily and loses weight?

ME ME ME ME ME ME ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I make home made artisan boule bread!!! That nice crunchy crust and gooeyness in the middle! I refuse to buy bread from the store. BUT!!! If you're concerned, then eat a sandwich 40 minutes before working out, then your body will have good carbs for energy. My system is to eat bread earlier in the day and stick to meats and veggies after 2pm. Otherwise I find that delicious bread creeping around to my bum, and it's not welcome there.

Remember that eating a bagel equals 5 slices of compressed bread... so eating 2 slices of bread is certainly a better choice! :flowerforyou:

WHAT I FORGOT TO SAY: Don't ever deprive yourself of something you love... it's not worth the agony. Change it up, maybe instead of every day, try every other day, or try morning instead of afternoon... you'll find your niche and it will be all water under the bridge! Let us know what you decide to do

I love bread...this is a great question. I eat one bread once a day. I only eat pepperidge farm 9-grain (per trainer). Its really yummy and pretty affordable. The other thing I have liked is wheat tortillas...makes you be able to have a "whole" wrap/sandwich with just one serving carbs. I have lost 30 lbs from my starting of 156 in 5 months. Oh..and I only eat those carbs before noon. I mean these types of carbs. I eat veggie carbs all day :)
  • I do! I Lo-o-ove bread and eat it every day. I don't buy anything but whole grain stuff nowadays, so I barely ever eat white bread. I'm always over a bit on my carbs, but I figure it's good carbs, so that's not too bad.

My ticker only shows that I've lost 13 pounds, but it's actually 23 since October. I went to the doctor this week for a checkup and found that my home scale weighs 10 lb light.:grumble: So I changed things around a bit so my weight is accurate but it looks like I've only lost 13. I know how much I've lost, and I know how many sizes I've gone down! (Two so far!)

I still eat bread, just not large quantities.... I lost 60 pounds while eating bread.

I currently am not losing weight daily, but it is coming off a little each week since I started calorie counting again!

I love bread! Sara Lee makes a bread that is 45 calories per slice. It's a little thinner than the rest of them, but just as yummy! I switched to it. Makes yuumy toast or sandwiches!

If I don't eat bread, I have a hard time hitting my calories. This is only my second week, but I lost 2.8 pounds by having a sandwich every day. Just make sure the bread isn't made with enriched flour of any kind so that it's actually somewhat nutritious for you. I eat 12 grain bread and it's delicious :)
