..... just kidding
i'm mostly doing this post to show girls not to freak out over the scale.
1 1/2 years ago i weighed 128 lbs.
this morning i weighed 142 lbs.
i have been eating anywhere from 1400-2000 calories/day over the past year and 1/2, with cheat days here and there of course. i have been doing MINIMAL cardio, just weight training until 5 months ago when i started crossfit, now i do that 3-5x /week.
here i am at 128lbs
here i am today *sorry just woke up* weighing in at 142 (top is different and i pulled it up a bit to show theres no huge gut LOL)
now I understand that some of you will think the before is better, and that's fine. Im merely posting this to show that weight isnt the most important thing in the world. i feel better now than i did before. if you are weight training, you can expect to gain weight. i also know that that 14 pounds may not ALL be muscle, and im okay with that too, i've enjoyed my piece of cheesecake and peach bellini over the year:P but, the fact that i fit all the same clothes 14 lbs later has to account for something :P
ps- i am 5'4, 142 lbs and wear a size 5-7 in pants

Love this. Thanks for posting I'm in the exact same position, but I choose not to weigh myself because I KNOW I'm much higher than I was. And that's okay. My clothes still fit (better, in most cases) & I look and FEEL(!!!) a million times better.
Great job girl, you look awesome!!0 -
You look wonderful!
I keep looking at at how small girls my height want to be but at 145 I wore a 5/7 sometimes (depending on the brand) 9 AND I honestly dont want to loose my curves or be smaller than a 5. And I want muscle! I have none lol0 -
You look amazing! And to be honest, I never would have guessed that you weighed even an ounce more than the first picture!0

Personally, I think it is hot when a woman actually lifts, over just does cardio. They shape up much better imo.
But that is just my humble opinion.
Anyways you look fantastic! Keep it up!0 -
thanks everyone i found another before where i was 123 lbs. in MY opinion, i look sick. like...unhealthy... i got here by eating under 1100-1300 calories and only cardio. yuck. lol
again, same shorts. apparently i like them. ahahah0 -
thanks for sharing great experience, until i joined MFP i had no clue about how important weight training is to getting the figure you want.0

This is awesome. Great Job!!!!0

Thanks for posting this! it's SO easy to become obsessed with the scale and seeing a lower number...but that doesn't mean it's healthy. i'm wanting to lose a last 2 lbs just to be able to see a certain number on the scale (150) but really, i know i want to just tone up and gain more muscle now...so that probably explains why i haven't lost the last 2 lbs for a week or 2... (i'm doing Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred to tone and strengthen).
i'm a size 8 now (and I never even thought I would be able to fit into size 8, that wasn't a goal for me really, it was just to get thinner and healthier)...0 -
Thanks for posting! i'm super excited that people here promote healthy eating vs crap food & strength training so much. I've taken the wk of in between "programs" and i'm dying!!! to get back in the gym!, even when i don't eat "perfect" and i'm training - i feel amazing... !
just goes to show that it's MOSTLY not about how much, but WHAT you put in your body - i mean, excess isn't good with anything, but if your gunna "pig out" do it on healthy food & save urself the crap feeling later! lol!!
Can't wait to get back at it Monday!0 -
thanks for the responses you all rock!!
and YES its definitely WHAT you put into your body. 1800 calories of nutrient dense foods is MUCH different than 1800 calories of junk....but this is why people have a hard time eating more also, they dont always make the healthy choices0 -
Love this post. You look so much healthier in the second picture!0

Good for you! You look good!! It's good to hear this positive reinforcement and especially to not get caught up with the scale!0
