MFP sugar limit

I've been trying to incorporate two pieces of fruit into my daily diet. However I find my sugar limit for the day is showing that I am exceeding my daily allowance. Does the sugar allowance largely refer to refined sugar or is it generic. I would welcome your thoughts

Thanks fpr you response - the links were very helpful. I think I'll carry an as I have been and worry if the sugars are coming from unhealthy foods!

I was worried about my sugar intake as well but, as long as it's coming from good sources of food, I don't worry about it. I replaced "sugar" with "sodium" in my diary.0
