Hi,

I am new and I am sure this question has been asked many times but I just want to know what works for you all as how many calories your body needs to lose weight and how many calories do you need to keep a balance weight?

I am trying 1350 right now. I hope it works for me.

Thank you

If you're not sure find a calculator for your bmr (your minimum calories) and then calculate your TDEE (maintainance calories) Eat anywhere in between those two. If you google you'll find'em. For my height I can eat between 1270-1570.

I had gastric sleeve surgery in June and my doctor set my calorie intake at 1200.

I agree with this. I have been eating anywhere between 1400- 1700 regularly with occasional days over that. I'm 5'7" and weigh 191. This seems to be working for me. If I'm hungry I will eat and if not I wont. I try not to beat myself up over it too much. But I make sure I eat enough.

I am on maintenance now so roughly 2200 a day. I eat between 1700-1900 when trying to lose. (This is after exercise is added in)
  • I try to keep mine intake around 1200. I earn more when I exercise, which includes running, walking, elliptical machines and weight training (roughly 4-5 days per week). I'm 5'5" and weigh 160. I have 10 more pounds to lose.
